Pastor Mark Bussert of Elmhurst fills a new, part-time position on our staff, Director of Stewardship. A pastor for 30 years in the Chicagoland area (except for one year near Knoxville, TN), he has served as an Assistant Pastor, then as Senior Pastor of Immanuel, Elmhurst, taught religion at Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, and was Director of Development for Voice of Care, a spiritual ministry to people with developmental disabilities. Since 2010 he has been providing stewardship services to area churches.

As Director of Stewardship, Pastor Bussert will work with the staff, Church Council and Board of Stewardship to help members of Trinity become effective managers of their God-given resources, and enable them to be more committed and generous in their personal involvement and financial support of Trinity’s ministries – using their “time, talent and treasure” to “save the lost and strengthen the saved.”

Pastor Bussert is married to Jackie Bussert, who serves the Northern Illinois District as Communications Manager and Editor of The Northern Light, the District’s newspaper. They have five grown children, and six grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys, reading, gardening (over 100 varieties of hosta), and collecting nativity sets (about 250, currently).
